Karin Smith
Meet Karin, our new Service Manager at our Atascadero branch! Karin is a true local with deep roots in San Luis Obispo County and a wealth of banking experience. Born and raised in Paso Robles, her journey in finance began in 1998 at Mid-State Bank & Trust. Over five years, she honed her skills as a teller, vault teller, and new accounts representative, laying a solid foundation for her future in banking.
In 2002, her entrepreneurial spirit led her to launch her own venture. For two decades, she successfully managed retail, wholesale, and online enterprises, gaining invaluable customer service insights that would later prove crucial in her banking career. Returning to finance in 2019, she joined Mechanics Bank as a Universal Banker. Her dedication and expertise quickly shone through, leading to promotions to Senior Universal Banker in January 2021 and Banking Services Officer in May 2021. Now, as our Service Manager, she brings a unique blend of traditional banking knowledge and innovative business acumen to serve our Atascadero community.
When she's not helping our customers achieve their financial goals, you might find her exploring California's finest burgers with her 15-year-old son, Cartter. She also has a creative side, enjoying vintage shopping and crafting jewelry in her spare time.
Her local roots, extensive banking experience, and commitment to customer service make her an invaluable asset to our team. We're excited to see how her involvement in local organizations and community events will further strengthen our ties with the Atascadero community.
