For nearly 40 years, Pacific Resources International (PRI) has brought products from New Zealand to customers across the United States, building a family business rooted in relationships, quality products, and a strong connection to its heritage. What began with a trip to New Zealand has grown into a thriving business specializing in Manuka honey and a variety of Manuka honey products, including lozenges and other specialty products.
PRI's story began when Kristy Oakley's father, David Noll, traveled to New Zealand on a surfing trip. When he later returned to Santa Barbara, he brought his family and an opportunity from friends and local beekeepers in New Zealand to introduce their honey to the community. The response was greater than expected, and the family never left.
Today, Kristy helps lead the business as her parents transition into retirement, managing customers, orders, inventory, and the day-to-day operations of PRI. As the business moves into its next generation, having a banking partner that understands its history and evolving needs has been an important part of that transition.
“American Riviera Bank has the opportunities of a big bank, but they also have the personal connection of a small local bank. They've taken the time to understand our family and our business, and they've been able to adapt and help us as we move forward.”

A key part of that relationship has been working with Annette Jorgensen, Vice President and SBA Business Development Officer at American Riviera Bank. For Kristy, Annette has become a trusted resource who is there whenever the business needs her, whether she's helping with an everyday banking question or discussing a larger investment opportunity.
“Working with a family-owned business like PRI gives us the opportunity to support not just a business, but the people and history behind it,” says Annette. “It's been rewarding to work alongside Kristy and her family as they move into this next chapter, and we're proud to be a partner they can rely on as their needs continue to evolve.”
For PRI, that personal connection is what makes ARB such a natural fit. Kristy appreciates having bankers who take the time to understand where the business has been, where it is going, and what it needs along the way.
“I definitely recommend ARB to any business, especially small family enterprises,” says Kristy. “They've been great and helpful every step of the way, whether you have something big or something small, and they're always there for you.”
Today, PRI continues to build on the foundation Kristy's parents created while looking toward the future. Their partnership with ARB reflects a shared belief in the value of personal relationships, local businesses, and supporting the next generation.
